When was the first time you saw a horse and how old were you?

When I was little we went to the feed mill and they had a horse there.  It was the highlight of our day to go there and see the Palomino horse.

Do you remember what you thought?

I thought he was the most beautiful horse AND that I desperately wanted one.

After seeing your first horse, how long was it before you rode one?

Not long, my dad used to pay for trail rides for the kids

What competitive equine events did you participate in?

Huner Under Saddle, Dressage and now Cutting

You are a member of NICHA and compete in cutting, what brought you to this sport?

Quite by accident, I boarded at a barn where a trainer there was getting into cutting.  He got me started.

Have you made friends through the NICHA?

Yes, nice organization to be a part of.  Generally, more experienced riders are glad to give advise or help out a bit.

What are your plans with horses for the future?

I would like to  have a nice cutter.  Right now I don't own one of my own but borrow one for a couple classes.

Yes, join and prepare to have a great time.

What advice do you have for getting started in this great event?

Get to know some people and find a respected trainer to help you gather a better understanding of the sport.  Good Luck!  Oh yes, don't forget to hold on....
