The affiliates of Illinois have recently had a meeting to form an alliance. Illinois is one of the few states that is divided in half for area competitions. This geographical boundary has caused National Cutting Horse competitors to not cross into another area. Area 12 for northern part of the state and area 13 for the southern part of Illinois.
The NCHA recognizes competitors in their areas by listing their earnings in the Cutting Horse Magazine. If you are in the top ten in your area you are qualified to go to Eastern or Western National competition. In our case the state of Illinois in divided. Hence we have formed the Illinois Cutting Horse Alliance to try to work with unity in our state.
This alliance is made up of the three directors along with the Presidents of each affiliate. Seven elected officials are to meet twice a year and work towards some of the following issues. Illinois State Fair Cutting Horse Show, resolve conflicting show dates, work together to build the state membership growth, and support all the groups if possible by attending Illinois shows. The most important is to keep the lines of communication in our state open between the clubs.
If you have any questions about this new Illinois Cutting Horse Alliance please let me know. I can be reached at cattletab@aol.com or by phone815-985-9167.
Sincerely,
